The Georgtown Food Tour was such an exciting experience. Learning about the history of the area and the stories behind the scenes of some of Washington's most famous people was incredible. I was impressed with our guide Christian. He was energetic, knowledgable and captured the real essence of the history. Seacatch was my favorite restaurant! The oysters and wine pairing was outstanding...not mention fun. I encourage anyone looking for great food, history and a fun experience, to sign up for this tour. Can't wait to try another tour on my next visit!

I had the pleasure of experiencing this food tour last Saturday. My guide, Christian, was extremely knowledgeable about the food and the history of Georgetown. Lots of info about the neighborhood, and generous amounts of amazing food! My favorite part was the French bistro, but the desserts were also incredible! Fully worth the price and I will be recommending to all my friends when they come to dc!

I completed this tour with a group of 3 other friends. When we thought we might be a little late for the start of the tour, we phoned ahead and the tour group and they were very accomodating for us and ensured us that we could simply "catch up" with the tour when we arrived. (We ended up not being late, but it was nice to know that we could reach a real person to speak with and they would be accomodating to us!)

Food was great and the walk aroud Georgetown was nice, we were able to see a lot of different places and areas. Lynn was very knowledgeable about the area and the restaurants. We loved her!

Highly recommend!

We loved the food tour we went on last weekend in Georgetown. Andrew, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and had several interesting things to show and tell us. The restaurants that we visited were prepared for our arrival and we had our food within minutes of arriving. Everything was delicious and very different from each other. We would highly recommend this tour.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Washington DC area. Our tour guide, Andrew, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very informative. Even with pouring rain and that escalated into a snow storm, he managed to conduct the tour professionally and made it fun for all of us! The food was fabulous and it was a great glimpse of the Georgetown eateries and surrounding neighborhood.

Even though it was very cold and cloudy, we had a great time. Our relatives from Canada loved the tour and can't wait to take another when visiting us again and since we live here we are anxious to go on another one soon. It was neat to walk around and down streets we had never been on before and discover unique places to eat. Only place we didn't care for was the Peacock restaurant.....spicy food. Loved Baked and Wired goodies. Would love to have the tourguide give more history and facts about Georgetown in the future.

Guide (Lynn) was very informative about Georgetown and the 5 stops.

The food was not particularly to my liking, but others (about 15 on the tour) all seemd very satified. I thought maybe they should have offered a few choices at each stop, but then again it would not be a food tour.

Overall, was a lot of fun. Met a nice bunch of people and introduced to an area of Washington we had never been before.

The tour was good but preferred ones out of NYC. NYC had more stops and basically had just samples of food. The Georgetown tour was only 4 stops and you actually sat down and ate for 20-30 min at each stop. Would have liked more of a variety of samplings.

Two out of the four stops on the tour were EXCELLENT. Great food, great service. Meaningful choices with history in the area and/or family owned. LOVED those. As for the other two, here was the problem: One restaurant wasn't ready for us and we spent way too much time sitting there and waiting. The food was ok at that restaurant (a cafe) but nothing to write home about. The last stop for dessert left a lot to be desired. While the dessert tasted good (what dessert doesn't?)... it was a 20-somethings coffee shop that was packed to the gills and left us nowhere to sit to eat our dessert. So we stood eating our dessert off of napkins. Not exactly what we were envisioning when going on a "Foodies" tour. That being said, our tour guide, Sarah was great. Knew her stuff and had a very fun, relaxed personality. Out of five stars, I give it a 3.

My daughter and I took this tour in early Oct. We both had a wonderful time. Our guide, Sarah, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Georgetown area and made the walking tour a lot of fun. The restaurants were wonderful and a wide variety of food was offered. We certainly had plenty of delicious food and the tour was more than we expected. We would both highly recommend this type of activity to anyone wanting to enjoy a specific area and taste a variety of food from delightful restaurants. It was a lot of fun and we will look forward to doing another "food" tour when we return to the area.

Our tour guide, Christian, was quite personable and knowledgeable. He shared many fun stories about the Georgetown area on our tour. However, not much information was shared at the restaurants regarding the food items, such as preparation, history, ingredients, etc. It would have been more exciting if the restaurant owners/managers would've taken part in providing information about the dishes. It would be a wonderful way to strike up more business.

At our 1st restaurant stop, we sampled 4 types of ravioli served with ciabatta bread. At the 2nd stop, we shared in a type of Italian-version "empanada" that contained spinach and mozzarella, as well as a flatbread consisting of arugula, prosciutto, parmesan, and candied figs, with your choice of their pre-selected wines or teas. The 3rd stop provided us with risotto shrimp balls, clams, and oysters Rockefeller. The finale was at a coffee/bakery that provided their homemade version of a s'more with graham cracker crust, a layer of caramel, a separate layer of marshmallow, topped with a layer of dark chocolate, served with your choice of their pre-selected variety of tea or coffee. My personal favorites were the oysters and the s'more. I'd never had oysters Rockefeller before and was hesitant to partake, but they were delicious. (I happily ate the ones that others left behind!)

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, Georgetown, and the company. (This is our second food tour. The first was in NYC.) The food was very good to excellent. Wine was included in all but the first and last stop. (Be sure to ask if it is included because it isn't announced.) Non-alcoholic drinks were included in all of the stops. The service was excellent and the guide was informative and very pleasant. If you enjoy trying new places, you will enjoy this tour. We will revisit one or two of the restaurants on the tour at a future time.

Our tour guide Christian was very friendly, put everyone at ease, was knowledgable about the area and restaurants, and promoted comaraderie among the group. It was nice that there were only 11 people as it made for a more intimate group. All the restaurants we visited were very good and I liked the diversity of food selections. The food was delicious and the walk through Georgetown seeing the historic sites was great. It was great fun and my husband and I will definitely take another culinary tour with DC tours next time we are in DC.

Christian was our tour guide on the Georgetown WALKING Food Tour, which lasted 3.5 hours. I recommend wear comfortable shoes, eat a late breakfast and you wonÕt need to eat dinner. This is a progressive dinner tour that is so enjoyable, we were not rushed it was very relaxing. At each restaurant we were able to sit down and enjoy a small meal, drink and good conversation with Christian and the group. The walk between each restaurant was filled with information about the area and the KennedyÕs. This was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with my husband and our two children that are in their 20Õs.

Our tour guide ("Lynn") was very knowledgeable, light spirited and entertaining on a painfully hot day. She showed a good knowledge of local history and answered questions from us and the other people on the tour in such a way that it helped us to forget about the terrible heat of the day while we were walking. The restaurants we visited were all completely different from each other and all extremely good. We made dinner reservations for that night (our anniversary) at one of the restaurants during our tour stop and had dinner the next day at one of the others visited.

A huge Thumbs Up!

Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable experience however it was not what I expected and I was disappointed.

1. This tour is billed as "food and history." Our tour guide explained maybe 4 pieces of history to us. At the restaurants there was no discussion of history. It is ok for the food tour to be solely about food, but billing it as a history tour as well is very misleading.

2. We only went to 4 stops. Our tour guide mentioned that there used to be 5 stops on the tour but 1 closed. I feel like a new stop should have been added or the price should have been discounted. Paying 65 dollars for a 3 hour tour and 4 stops in Georgetown is far too high for my budget. I usually go out for specials and "daily discounts" otherwise I cant afford it. There were 5 "stops" but 1 was an old house where we literally walked in and out- NO FOOD THERE, JUST HISTORY. The food at the stops was overall great, some better than others, which is understood. I cant believe it, that the company would at $65, reduce the number of stops from 5 to 4.

As I said, overall a good experience, if I was made of money. However, I do not believe it was worth $65 for me. Sorry, I live on a budget- why should i have to suffer. I should get the same as everyone else. I want to try another tour (the Old Town Alexandria tour) but I am not sure if I should. Maybe I will wait and see.

The tour guide - Christian - was excellent. He had a great personality, was very well informed, talkative, and just couldn't be better. The food and restaurants were wonderful - they were always ready for us, and the portions were large. The walk around Georgetown was gorgeous. This is such a fun thing to do when you are by yourself - I was at the end of a conference and wanted to spend time in Georgetown - so it was perfect to join a small group and eat 'dinner' with a group of people. Christian was great at socializing with everyone.

The tour guide was pleasant and professional, and she knew interesting facts about the neighborhood. The restaurants were great too, except for one. Primo Italiano featured delicious hand-made pasta, Puro CafŽ featured a unique atmosphere and great food as did the seafood restaurant and the coffee place. Dean and Deluca's was woefully unprepared and hastily prepared a cheese and wine pairing. I recommend finding a place other than Dean and Deluca's to take customers. I have already, and will continue to recommend this tour to friends, family, and co-workers.

The food was all wonderful and they do not skimp on the portions! If you drink it is also a great tour (a couple wines which were very good) and if you don't drink there are options too! The history part was great too; lots of great info about the area and its development. I would have to say that this was one of the better tours that I have been on, a great mix of everything a food tour should be!

Me and my boyfriend enjoyed this foodtour very much. The group is relative small, about 11 people. And we liked that. We heard that normally it is a larger group. So hopefully DC Metro Food Tours reads this one. Keep the group around 10 people! But it was a great tour, our tourguide was friendly, enthusiastic and he knew alot from food, but also DC in general. I would recommend this tour. The food is good, the neighborhood is good.

Spouse and I toured on Friday, April 22. Andrew, our guide, made us feel very welcome and the group developed a camraderie right from the start, even though we were all strangers. Walked through the heart of Georgetown, stopping along the way at Italian, French and seafood restaurants, Dean and DeLuca market and a well known coffeeshop for some dessert at the end. The food tastings were delicious and generous in portions, wine (or other soft drinks) was served at 3 of the stops and coffee at the last stop. Along the way, we also were treated to local history and lore. Andrew was a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly and well organized guide. We both felt the 3-3.5 hours spent was well worth the time and money, and one of our DC trip highlights. Would definitely return for other tours, a great way to experience an area in a short period of time.

My husband and I went on the Georgetown Food Tour on a beautiful, sunny Friday afternoon this April. Our group included a total of 10 plus the tour guide, Andrew. There are 5 stops, including three places where we sampled entree dishes, a wine/cheese stop, and a dessert/coffee place. Throughout the tour, Andrew told us about the history of Georgetown and pointed out several houses and businesses that have unique histories. We travel to the DC frequently and were looking for something new and different to do - and the Georgetown Food Tour was a special treat. We will try some of the other tours offered by this company on future visits.

We didn't feel there was that much food served and didn't expect to be served wine. The servings were pretty small especially at the seafood rest. only one clam and one oyster per person. We had two teenagers in our group of ten and two adults that do not drink, they had to pay the same amount. Six of us went on your Alexandria food tour and really enjoyed it so we were a little disappointed at the amount of the food served on the Georgetown tour.

What a great evening! The weather was perfect, the food was amazing and Andrew made it all extra special. Andrew lead us through Georgetown telling interesting stories, giving history tidbits, and mini architecture lessons. Each restaurant was unique in it's food and atmosphere.

It was a great 'girl's night out'. We walked enough to not feel guilty about the food we enjoyed

We had a fabulous time on this tour with our hostess/guide, Sarah. There is some

walking involved, so wear good shoes. The restaurants we visited were quite good, and would never have found on our own. The historical information was a great added bonus - found out things we didn't know. All in all, it is really fun, and worth the time and money. I'd like to take others on this tour.

Sarah did an amazing job. I would guess that the groups get a little comfortable when they start drinking and harder to get going. Sarah is very good at not rushing people but keeping everybody on the move. Very insightful and down to earth.

As per the stops, most were good but a couple of the spots were slow to provide the food or just plain unorganized, no matter how many times Sarah phoned them in advance or had to remind the hostesss to keep it moving.

All in all , had a great time and would do it again.

Do you offer the samething in San Fransico?

The tour guide, Andrew, was good at leading the group around Georgetown. We ate at some good places and learned quite a bit about the history of the various places in the area. Andrew spoke a bit fast for some of the guests in our group whose first language was not English. I would recommend a slower rate of speech if the group contains anyone who has English as a second language.

This tour is highly recommended. We walked around the area, the tour guides took us to the non-touristy secctions of town and told of the history of it. We also visited and ate at some fantastic restaurants (small but personable) and the foods were delicious. The guides picked out some of the archetecture (sic) and why some of the buildings had certain emblems on them.

There were several other tours available and as we couldn't fit them all into our schedule, we were glad we took this one!

It's no longer a secret that food walking tours is a convenient way to get oriented in a new city. But it's also an interesting way to gain a new perspective in a city that even locals or frequenters can appreciate. Of course, it helps to have an enthusiastic, cheerful, and knowledgable guide leading the pack. Looking forward to checking out the new food tours planned for the DC area next year.

It was fun and the food was very good. Our guide was very accommodating and interested in us having a good experience. We learned a lot about Georgetown area , especially the homes of the Kennedys and tales relating to them, seeing other Georgetown homes, and we went back later to explore the area on our own.

There was quite a lot of walking, so come with good shoes and willingness to explore by foot between restaurants. The selection of restaurants was interesting and varied....we visited several the next day too.

My husband and I had not eaten all day in preparation for this tour. We ended feeling so full that we could not even finish the last tasting... well the last tasting before dessert that is. This was the most expensive food tour that I've been on, but the quality and quantity of the food was worth it.

Only down side is that our group had two kids that were running around crazy and our biggest goal was to not be seated with them at the restaurants. Too bad it's not an adults only tour.

Sarah was our tour guide and she did a great job -- thanks, Sarah!

We had a fantastic tim on this tour. Tourguide, Sarah, had great info to share at each restaurant, as well as things during the walk. COMPLETELY full by the end of the tour. Probably walked anywhere between 1 to 1.5 miles. Just enough time at each stop to enjoy the food. Entire tour group was about 13 people, which was a good number...too many more and would have been too big of a group. Went on a holiday weekend, so lots of other people so somewhat hard to walk with the group...but really not an issue.

Had a great variety of foods to taste. Each stop was a different type of food. I tried new foods that I probably wouldn't have ordered but loved them all. Good, relaxed atmosphere. Didn't feel hurried.

Two thumbs up. Would recommend to anyone to try!

Never would have imagined a food tour being both entertaining and historical. Not only do you learn about new foods, new places to eat, you also learn about the area history and you have the opportunity to meet people. The groups are small and intimate, but still allows more intimacy if you wish to make this a Òdate night.Ó We enjoy the tours so much that we sign up to retake the tours inviting family and friends along to experience the pleasures. We especially enjoy revisiting our favorite restaurants or spots.

We had a wonderful tour guideÉyeah Ada! And on the same tour, had the pleasure of meeting and touring along side one of the owners of DC Metro Food Tours, Sharone, who was very gracious! Thank you so much for an awesome experience!

We can not wait to experience all the food tours that youÕre offering. We would highly recommend this learning experience to everyone, locals and out of town guests.

Each restaurant already had tables reserved and waiting for us when we arrived, so we didn't have to wait to sit down or wait long to sample the food. Six food stops made for a full belly...well worth the $$ for the tickets if you ask me. An overall great experience!

My college age son and I took this tour because we're both food/cook enthusiast. The guide was friendly and extremely knowledged about the area, as well as, the restaurants we visited. We thought the selection and variation in restaurants was very good and thought out. Each location was set up and ready for our group so that the tour flowed easily. Even though it was four hours, the time went by fast and we could have stayed longer! We thought the price was reasonable for the experience we received. We HIGHLY recommend this tour especially if you've never visited Georgetown. It was the best of both! P.S. Would NOT recommend it for children. Definitely an adult activity!

We did the food tour while on vacation in DC from Texas. My group was two girls and three guys and our ages ranged from 22 - 30. We met up with about 7 others people (various ages and from various places) who had signed up for the tour, so about 12 people in all. We spent about 4 hours on the tour, walked about 3 miles, while stopping at 6 different locations. Our tour guide was fabulous and shared the history of the area with us while we walked. It was very relaxed and the food exceeded my expetations. We went to restaurants I would never have known were there (esp. as a tourist). All five of the people in my group loved it and would definitely do another one of the food tours!

This is a wonderful way to experience a wide variety of Georgetown Restaurants! To begin, our guide was 100% professional while still making the experience personal, warm and friendly. The tidbits of history and 'who eats where' today were a perfect blend. And the food! You want to start hungry becasue it is fabulous...you get to try a little of everthing...from family friendly to new and trendy and upscale. It was all excellent and there is definitely something for everyone and plenty of it. We tried Italian, Turkish, nouvelle cuisine, Cali/healthy, choclates, pastries, and more! Each restaurant made us feel welcome...no waiting in lines ...we met owners and chefs...relaxed, talked, ate, drank, walked and then started again. At the end when we parted with our guide we felt like we were saying goodbye to an old friend. We were completely 'full', happy and taking a 'doggie bag' of treats back to our hotel. It doesn't get much better than this. Thank you Ada and DC Food Tours!

If you want to experience Georgetown using all 5 senses, this is the way to do it. As on any food tour, the most important thing you are going for is taste. The flavor of each of the foods at each stop was so exciting and flavorful. The guide did an excellent job of explaining each food to us and giving us a little history behind the locale and food itself! As you were walking through the downtown district you could smell delicious aromas and wonder if what you were smelling would become the next thing you would get to taste. As you walked through the downtown or even the brownstone section, the guide was very informative and you heard such interesting bits of information about sights that you would not get if you were out for a stroll on your own. On your walk through Georgetown, you got to see interesting restaurants, historical sights, and beautiful historical architecture. I have covered 4 of the senses; tasting, smelling, hearing, and seeing. That only leaves the sense of touch, and all I can say about that is to please to remember to wear comfortable walking shoes because you will FEEL this in your feet IF you wear the wrong kind of shoe! The walking is NOT overdone, but you WILL be walking for the majority of the tour!! Come prepared!

We greatly enjoyed the tour. It was a hot DC summer afternoon and Georgetown has its share of hills, but the proportion of walking and eating was just right. Each of the establishments we visited welcomed us and provided diversely wonderful food. (A suggestion, DC Food tours might want to give out a small card with the places visited that day listed on it with contact info, makes it easier for people to return to a favorite spot.) The amount of food was perfect. We had a hungry teen aged boy with us, and he was satiated for a brief time (which is normal for him.)

Our tour guide was Ken, and he was superb. He made a sincere effort to learn our names and to introduce everyone on the tour. For a few hours, a group of strangers was transformed into an intrepid food adventure team! As a bonus, we also had Ada who is in training to be a guide . She was warm and friendly and added to the overall presentation. This tour is not just about food, we learned something about the history of Georgetown and the neighborhoods we walked through. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys walking, eating and history.

My only suggestion would be to provide the participants with a list of the restaurants (with address and phone number) at the beginning of the tour so we could take notes and mark places that we would like to return to in the future.

One would imagine that a 3 and a half hour tour would have to be an exhausting venture after a while. However, our tour guide and his assistant kept us captivated the entire time. With a good mix of sight seeing, food tasting, and history lessons, the tour was a well-rounded combination of Georgetown fun. The places in Georgetown that we visited were interesting and worth seeing. The foods at various joints, ranging from upscale restaurants to small snack shops, were scrumptious and sublime. The history lessons and stories spellbound us and kept our attention. This tour produced a greater appreciation of Georgetown for my date and I. I really enjoyed the DC Metro Food Tour in Georgetown. The food tour, in general, is a great way to learn about the history of the neighborhood while experiences several restaurants along the way. I liked that the tour was a talking tour and that it was guided away from just the well known M Street.

My favorite food on the tour was a pumpkin butternut squash ravioli at the first Italian restaurant stop. I also enjoyed the wine tasting in the middle of the tour as a break from sooo much food. It was a great way to pace the tour but I would have liked a red wine taste to accompany the white wine, cheeses, and brownie. I didn't care for the sub stop located near Georgetown University. I liked that we stopped at a local college place and the sub was very good but too big and took forever to get the order. We also had to sit outside on the sidewalk and it was about to rain so that added to the uncomfortable setting. I reallllly liked the last stop which included two desserts. They were so good, esp. the "Kick you in the Nuts bar" but coffee or hot tea would be a better pairing instead of iced tea. We had an interesting iced tea already at the second location.

Overall, my favorite stop was the seafood restaurant where we sampled two different oysters (i love oysters). It was also an added bonus to have a cocktail with the tasting. The seafood restaurant also served tasty shrimp risotto balls.

The tour guide, Sarah, was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. If you are a "foodie," this tour is a creative way to spend an afternoon in Georgetown. I will definitely look into taking another DC Metro Food Tour in the future.

Sara was a wonderful guide. I really enjoyed Fino, Puro, and Sea Catch. I hope to return to each of those restaurant some day. The vegetarian option at Wisemister (sp?) was awful. Both of us threw away our wraps, they were not worth eating. Dean and Deluca was fine, and it was good to have some wine. I also like the history of the building. I would have preferred espresso at Baked and Wired instead of 2 desserts and tea.

Overall, it was wonderful. I am already trying to decide which tour I will do next.

Georgetown Tour should be shorter and less walking. And with the summer coming the heat the humidity of Georgetown will tire people out. I believe there were many other gourmet restaurants that would like to join in the tour. I counted on eating more food in a food tour, and despite 5 stops, I was still very hungry. Dessert at the end should be much more substantial. Heres my tips- 1. give us an option for transportation. It isnt fare that the day is hot when I want to take the tour. 2. give us more than 5 stops. 3. Curtail the history talk, I am here for food.
