This trip was fantastic! I was a bit hesitant to spend so much money on food samples but I am so glad I did. We were presented not with small little bites of food like I expected, but huge portions! We had nearly full meals at every stop. The food was delicious and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! I would highly, highly reccomend this trip!

Great way to see Georgetown. The food wasn't as mind-blowing as I might have hoped, but there were definitely some highlights and it'd be a great way to learn about new places if you go to Georgetown a lot. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I know I'll be going back and will definitely be looking up the tours they do in other cities.

The guide was excellent. Georgetown is so rife with history and our guide took us to some wonderful places and we learned so much! She stopped at the house where JFK and Jackie and kids lived and the next day when we went to the Newseum, we saw photos of the Kennedys in that same home. We got a fuller appreciation due to our foodie tour. We walked through streets that we wouldn't have gone down had we been on our own. We learned about the architecture and history. The restaurants and bakery where we stopped were delicious and eclectic. It was an amazing price considering it was 3 and a half hours and we ate till we were full and had an amazing tour of Georgetown. I highly recommend this tour!! I will definitely search out similar tours in other cities.

The highlight of the food tour was the beautiful neighborhoods we walked through and our wonderful guide's information. We enjoyed the company of the guests as well. The restaurants we went to were ready with our food just shortly after we arrived and the food was very good. We enjoyed talking with the chefs and listening to them tell us about their restaurants. Your tour comes highly recommended by us!

Lauren was a great guide, and the food was wonderful! Our entire group of our mothers and us as a couple enjoyed the walking tour and the food. The locations were small businesses with great food and service: French cafˇ with great seasonal ratatouille with fish, Moroccon cafˇ with Cornish hen and rice with spices, local favorite hot spot with deconstructed salad and a dessert place with good coffee, tea and bakery items. We had fun learning about Georgetown history and had a lovely group of new people to enjoy as well. Only downside was the poor weather! Rained buckets part of our tour time, but Lauren helped to make the outdoor portion carefully planned to avoid the worst downpours.

Needs more stops with less food at each stop. Like samples would be great. Imagine saturday at costo but way better. Guide was last person to join group,no name tag to identify her and limited knowledge of Georgetown. She had a viable excuse but that did it for me right there. Area offers much potential.

As a big time foodie from Northern CA, I always look for opportunities to sample new and interesting restaurants - the bonus was my teen daughter enjoyed the tour as well. The best stops on the tour were at the start and finish - Cafe La Ruche and Get Baked were both top-notch. We enjoyed the walk, the Georgetown history and commentary provided by Joelle, and the company of others on the tour as well. It was not too long, and the sample servings were not too large, nor too small. We returned for lunch the next day at Cafe La Ruche, and they suggested another lunch spot - noPa, near the International Spy Museum that was even better. When we return to DC, I plan to take my husband on this tour. I would not recommend this tour for children under 12.

We absolutely loved the Georgetown food tour. Our guide, Christopher was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. There was one other couple on our tour so it was very intimate and things flowed perfectly. Staff was expecting us at each stop and the owner or a manager came out to tell us the history of their establishment. Everything we tried was delicious- and all things we would have never have tried otherwise. The tour also included a great deal of history and information on the architecture of Georgetown- really very interesting stuff. One tiny critique that was mentioned by another reviewer- we only made 4 stops while the description did say 7- it was plenty of food but one more stop with something small would have been nice- we were asked about shellfish allergies so I had been hoping for an oyster or a mini she-crab soup but really, it was an excellent tour and we canÕt wait to take another Metro food tour.

I would highly recommend this tour to get a 'taste' of Georgetown - literally and historically!!! On our family vacation, this was a great way see Georgetown and learn some of the history. Our guide, Robert, was very knowledgeable on the area and history. The restaurants chosen - Cafe La Ruche, Paolo's, Puro and Baked and Wired - were off the main street and all had excellent food. Our kids, ages 15 and 12, really enjoyed the French, Italian and Moroccan food as much as my husband and I. Well done!!

With Christian leading our group of ten, we had an informative and tastey sampling of Georgetown, learning many historical tidbits between bites. Our first stop at Cafe La Ruche was delightful. The owner was personable and accessible, first describing the history of the restaraunt and then the food we were about to sample; talapia topped with the interesting combination of ratatiouille and bernaise sauce - delicious! Our three remaining food-stops were interesting and tastey but without the welcoming panache of Cafe La Ruche. Christian was a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, gladly answering questions and setting a comfortable pace. While I wouldn't rate any of the food as outstanding, it was all good and the tour was a great overview of beautiful Georgetown.

My boyfriend and I did the Georgetown foodie tour on a recent trip to DC and loved it! Our tour guide, Lauren, was knowledgable about the area and passionate about the restuarants and food. Our tour included 4 stops at different restaurants, all which served a variety of food. Each restaurant served a fairly large portion of food for a "tasting" tour- we definitely left feeling stuffed and like we got our monies worth!

All in all, it was a great way to meet other travelers (tour groups are kept to 12 and under), visit restaurants you normally wouldn't, and get to see the area. Would definitely do other tours!

Robert was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable both about local history as well as the food establishments we were visiting and the cuisine we would have at each. My only disappointment was that the FAQ section of this tour had noted we would be making 7 stops and there were only 4 on the tour. My decision to take the Georgetown tour was based largely on that as I thought it would be more of a tasting experience with many different types of foods. That being said, the stops that we did make were great and the food was delicious. Plan on 4 hours rather than the 3-3.5 listed.

Our guide, Robert, was very friendly and informative. We had been on a food tour in another city, and the Georgetown tour was longer, but it had less food stops than the one in the other city. It was a combination walking tour of Georgetown and a food tour. We enjoyed eating with people from other areas of the country during the food stops.

Our tour guide was personable and knowledgeable about the area. Patient with the volume of questions. All 4 eateries were great selections, with Baked & Wired being a wonderful way to conclude the experience. I felt the portions served were respectable, not massive portions but I was definitely satisfied afterward and did not require dinner! I've already recommended to friends and family, both local and future visitors to D.C. Keep up the great work! (One item... correct your website, it said "29 street" instead of "28 street"... the girl was very kind when I called to verify the meeting location.

We enjoyed the Georgetown tour a lot. Our guide Christian was both friendly and informative. The tour is not an in depth historical tour, nor is it a real "foody" tour, but rather an interesting mix of both. We visited five restaurants, eating one dish in each - two were very good, two were good and one was ok. I think it was worth the money and filled an afternoon in this pleasant area of Washington DC.

The food was all decent (the dessert place was very good) but the tour itself was overpriced and underplanned. I was so disappointed in our guide. He took us all over the neighborhood with very little talking. We even walked along the C&O canal in the dark for about 10 minutes, I actually saw several rats across the dirt path. Not exactly what we had in mind and not at all safe. Say what you want, you are STILL IN WASHINGTON DC - and I did not feel comfortable there. I would not take this tour or go to the city again.

We enjoyed our tour and our guide was great, but since this was a food tour we had higher expectations of the food and the interaction we'd get with the chefs or owners of the restaurants. The food at the first stop, paolo's, was fantastic and it was nice to have someone from the restaurant come out and describe our dish. However, after that only 1 other chef came out to talk to us. So all in all, we enjoyed the tour but feel that there's room for improvement before we'd enthusiastically recommend or do another tour by this company.

Our small group of 4 friends wanted something beyond the museums and HOHO tours as we'd all been to DC on multiple occasions. Yet we do enjoy history and we all need to eat. This tour perfectly fit the bill. We were all pleased with the tour itself. The tour group was small, the pace was active without feeling rushed, and the food was unique but still close enough to the mainstream for the unadventurous. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the Georgetown area and food. He was congenial and friendly. The restaurants were prepared for our arrival so pacing worked.

We tried to do this on our own in NYC and couldn't get in and out of the restaurants quickly enough to make this type of progressive dinner work. That pacing, and the history knowledge of the guide, make this work.

It was well worth the money and we will definitely take the other tours on future trips.

The resturants had a nice variety of food for us to taste and the atmosphere was always charming. We all really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to attending another events in the future.

While I understand this is a walking food tour, I really must emphasize that the focus is on the food. The food choices are great and will not leave you hungry... but I was hoping for a bit more history of the local area and architecture on the walking tour. This was my 3rd food tour (all different neighborhoods) and I feel like some of the walking tour portion is getting repetitive. But I must say the food will not disappoint! The tour guide was very friendly and the establishments comfortable. It is a fun activity for visiting family and friends. Thanks!

Our guide, Santana B. was fantastic. She was very enthusiastic and you could tell she was enjoying her time with us. She took our questions and answered them as best she could (in all fairness-there was a man in our group asking stupid questions that no one could answer..."what is the sq footage of that house over there?" The first restaurant was Paulo (I think that's how it's spelled) and the espreso beef was GREAT!, Next was Puro and the game hen was unbelievable, as was the side dish (but nothing special). Third was a fish dish at a place I cannot remember the name of. I am not a fish eater. The last stop was a bakery names Bakers and Wired, this was very good. We got a beverage of our choosing (iced coffe for me) and two desserts of which both were scrumptious! I would certainly do this tour again if the fish was replaced with something else i liked, it would be better. I have advise, dont make everyone have fish without giving us a choice, but I would do any tour again with Santana B. because she just made the whole experience that much better! Great job! (I learned AFTER the tour that this was only her 2nd tour by herself-Bravo!)

Christian, our guide, was very knowledgable about the historical significance of the area and current additions. We had a nice group of friendly people we met from various places. The pace was perfect. Not too fast but you won't have time to window shop. Do that before while everything is open. We had ravioli at 1st stop that was our favorite, then we stopped at a Moroccan inspired place where I felt to good was just ok. Next we stopped at a French place for tilapia which was good but I would like to go back and try some other dishes there. Finally, we stopped at a quaint local coffee/bakery that was tasty. They may need to up the food experience a little for true foodies as overal I was slightly disappointed. I'd also done the Alwxandria tour and found the walk was equally fun and food a little better.

I loved this food tour. I've never been on one, but I'm already scheduled for three more, and I'm planning on three after that -- in D.C. alone. It's a nice combination of sampling local food and learning the history of the location, which being into history just added to the tour. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly! I plan on recommending this to everyone I know in the D.C. are or who plan on visiting!

This is my 6th or 7th food tour around the country. Overall I would recommend the tour, as a twenty something couple who love going out to eat. We got a nice 3 mile walk in, which was great since usually I feel so stuffed on a food tour! The walk was pretty relaxed and I think doable for most people in okay shape. We got to see some neighborhoods in Georgetown that we wouldn't normally see. We had a lovely tour guide studying for a phd in anthropology who was great. The food was delicious, especially the ravioli at the first stop and dessert at baked and wired. There were only four stops, although each stop had a decent portion size and I definitely couldn't finish it all (my boyfriend could of course finish whatever I could not.) I prefer slightly smaller portions with more restaurants. 6 is a good number. Although the fig and prosciutto flatbread was yummy, the restaurant seemed to lack history.

My suggestions to the tour company: add in 1-2 more restaurants and make the portions a tiny bit smaller. Convince me (or customers in general) why we go to the flatbread place- I'm easily convinced.

Food was really excellent. These were all new restaurants to us. The day was boiling hot and it was a little taxing climbing the hills and I'm athletic but I have to say it was the heat. The only thing I would have liked more of is a little more history - architecturally, etc.

I would have preferred smaller portions and more stops but I am comparing this with food tours in NYC and it is a format that I am more accostomed to.

All in all, it was really a great time.

I came to DC to visit my daughter who is interning for the summer. We wanted to do something a little different from the normal Monument tours. As we are both fans of history, architecture and food this sounded like fun. We loved it.! Ours was a small, friendly group of 5.

Our guide Rachel, a very knowledgeable and personable young woman, took us to areas in Georgetown we did not know existed. With her we were able to navigate the neighborhoods and streets that we would never have seen on our own. It was, as we expected, a lot of walking but it was a slow enjoyable pace. The tour was arranged so that about the time we began to feel tired it was time to stop at another restaurant.

The food was excellent. I do not consider myself a "foodie" and can be a little picky at times, but I enjoyed each stop we made. We were treated to ravioli, open-face gourmet sandwiches, talapia with potatoes, and treats from an area bakery.

At each stop we were welcomed graciously and the food was brought to us almost immediately. It was beautifully presented and we were treated as special guests. Very nice. At our last restaurant stop the owner/chef attended us himself. He had created a special dish just for the tour, and it was my favorite. The delicious food and his kind attention made me want to visit again, but alas our schedule did not allow.

Overall, it was wonderful. We learned more about this historic area and tried foods we might never have ordered in different circumstances. This was one of the highlights of my trip. My daughter and I agree ---we would love to do this again.

What a great way to experience Georgetown! Our tour guide, Rachael, was absolutely wonderful. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and considerate of all members in the group. As the group met in the park, we discovered that all of us were involved in education in some way. Ages spanned from early 20s to early 60s, and all had a great time, due in large part, to Rachael's skills as a tour guide. Each of our four stops was preceded with interesting Georgetown history about the sites we were seeing as well as background about the restaurants and their owners . The food was excellent and the portions were more than ample. We walked along the canal to our last stop (for dessert, of course). The entire group was energized by delicious food and an enjoyable stroll through Georgetown. We parted with full stomachs and big smiles.

My husband and I went on this fabulous gastronomic walking tour of Georgetown. Our tour guide was a young man named Christian and he was very personable and knowledgable. We were joined by only one other couple who happened to be from the same country( Canada) as us which help make a instant connection. The five of us set off on this food adventure that is not to be missed! It is a terrific way to learn some history of the quaint area of Georgetown and discover some of the terrific eateries that are scatterered throughout this neighbourhood. It was extremely well organized and the owners of the various restuaruants were welcoming and provided fantastic food. We a wide variety of food from Italian, French and Morrocan inspired cusine. Each restaurant severed either an appretizers or an entrees or a desert. We were not disappointed at any the resturants and would highly recommend this tour. We would defintely do another gastomonic tour if we were in Washington again. If possible ask for Christian as your tour guide. I would recommend this tour be done early in your visit to Washington; as you might want to go back to these restaurants later in the week.

I've been on a few walking tours around the US and Europe. Learning about and experiencing a city and it's history enriches your traveling experience. I find that food tours provide a traveler with those rich experiences that give you a taste, literally and figuratively, of the flavor of a city. You wander side streets and discover places you would have never stumbled upon without a local's help. My tour of Georgetown was just that. A feast for the eyes and the stomach! I've been able to use my knowledge to help a fellow traveler to find a great bakery!

All the food was delicious, and now I know some good places to recommend for friends when they're in town and to go back to myself. This group dynamic was great. I came with a couple of friends, so we didn't all know each other at the beginning, but everybody was talking to each other along the way and had lots of good conversations as we walked and ate.

My husband and I booked this trip for my friends who came in from Atlanta. Although it was scorching hot (almost 90 degrees), the guide kept us in the shade (as much as possible) and the food stops were well air conditioned. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and all of the restaurants were great. I do not agree with the complaints that the final stop (desert) took away from the experience because the group could not all sit together. It's a small, hip place that had seating (just not enough for a group of 12 to sit together). We loved their treats and the ambiance of the place. Although my husband and I liked the Alexandria tour better, I would still highly recommend this tour for both locals and out of town guests.

And we had no cell phone, but one of the others also there waiting made a few calls. apparently the guide had had a personal emergency and we were offered our money back or the tour starting late. Two people opted for their money back and four of us choose to wait. It was worth the wait. The guide was charming, the tour was fun and the food great. This was a lot of fun for me and my boyfriend, but I would just as likely go with some friends or my parents. The food was delicious and our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun. It was surprise for my boyfriend who 1) loves trying new food and 2) wanted to see more of DC because he recently started working there. He loved it! I like that it is not only a food tour but that you get to learn interesting details about the city as well. The only place we didn't love was the second place we went to (with flatbreads) simply because the cuisine seemed uninspired and I didn't appreciate having to view constant images of models on a TV screne while I ate (it just felt cold). I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in trying and learning something new.

Lauren was a great guide with lots of details of Georgetown that were interesting. For the price and promotion about the trip we assumed we would visit 6 or at least 5 restaurants. We visited 4 and one of them was disastrously not ready or organized for us. (served flatbreads) We waited forever even for our drinks. The first stop was ravolli and it was awesome! (Fino Italiano) The fish at the French restaurant, 3rd stop, was dried out perhaps because of the length of time spent at the flat bread restaurant. (Sorry cannot remember the names of the restaurants which is probably good) Our final restaurant visit was for desserts and coffee. No one in our group (4) were impressed with either dessert. The canal ducks got mine! Again great guide disappointing food.

My husband and I have done 2 food tours in other cities and thought this one was overpriced compared to New York's and Boston's. Yes we sat down at places and had nice experiences I would franly rather stand outsode a place and have a few more. Sadly for the guide we did not tip her!

I very much enjoyed the opportunity to dine at fine establishments I wouldn't have otherwise visited. I also enjoyed the history of the neighborhood and the scenic sites given by Lauren. Being a food tour, I would have wished, however, that the owners of the restaurants would talk more about the food they served us. Besides the description Lauren gave us, there wasn't much talk about it. And despite them knowing we were coming, the service at Puro Cafe was terrible. Lauren had to get us everything.

the first stop-raviolli was the best! The lentils and sausage stop - not so great. Dessert stop was a trendy and interesting place with great food, but not the best choice for a food tour group. Suggestion - I would still like the opportunity to see the business(Baked and Wired) and make a purchase. But I would rather go to a restaurant for dessert that not only has good food, but also an environment that offers a place to sit, eat and visit with the people in the group. Baked and Wired is a fantastic business but a poor choice for a food tour group.
