This was our first food tour. My mother, sister and I did not know what to expect. Eric our tour guide was great - he was funny, knowledgeable and very friendly. The tour was more than what we expected as we thought we'd walk from one restaurant to another and just eat. We learned of the culture surrounding Georgetown while taking a nice stroll and eating wonderful food.

We met at the little park in front of the Four Seasons in Georgetown which isn't a bad Uber ride away. Our tour guide Eric was enthusiastic to meet us and had a lot of information to share from the start. We started right on time which was nice as we were a company group working within the constrains of the work day. Our tour originally scheduled for 3 PM was actually moved just for us to 1 PM. We felt that this time actually worked in our favor as there were less people at all of the restaurants that we visited.

We started on a walking tour throughout Georgetown stopping along the way to talk about various historical sites. Our first stop had great seafood and the back of the restaurant felt like it was reserved just for us. The rest of the tour went amazing as well with really delicious food, great historical facts, and beautiful sites. The route we took was shady, had a nice breeze, and was walkable. The small "uphill" section wasn't bad at all and the stops along the tour were nicely chosen in distance wise from each other. We knew that it was going to rain that day so we came prepared. It deluged on the way to the fourth restaurant but now we have a great story to tell.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this food tour to anyone. I definitely see myself visiting the stops again. I would definitely recommend Eric as a tour guide as well. He was a great guide, very personable and had great facts. We was knowledgeable to the point where he gave us many great restaurant recommendations not even in Georgetown but throughout the entire city.

Had this been any other day, our party of five adults would have had a fantastic time, but the weather didn't cooperate and the tour company's apparent policy for not refunding your money left us soaked to the skin. Literally. The company advertises cancelling the tours for anything more than a light shower, but such is not the case. The tour itself is very good and centers around some of the dining establishments along M Street and the adjoining neighborhoods. Our tour host, Eric, was terrific. He's very friendly, funny, and informative, and his ability to keep us entertained while pointing out historical and architectural interests was top-notch. The host is the glue that holds the tour together and Eric performed wonderfully even if the weather made us uncomfortable. If this was the only tour we had taken with this company I would have been harsher in the rating because, in the end, I would rather have had the tour cancelled and gotten my money back. But because we had a great experience with the Capitol Hill tour and the fact that this would have been a great experience in dry weather, I'm still going to highly recommend this tour. Just be sure that good weather is expected or wear a wetsuit because they sure aren't going to cancel and give a refund.

Kayla our guide was great, she was informative not only about the restaurants we were going to sample but also about the history as we walked thru the streets of Georgetown. She showed us where JFK proposed to Jackie, the home he purchased for her. She was great! We loved the choice of restaurants they all treated us well and the food sampling was FAB! We would defintely recommend it and do it again when back in Washington. There were 8 in our group and the overal group was only about 12 of us so it was nice small and intimate. Easy to converse and enjoy. Well worth the $$$ with the delicous food offerings.

The meeting spot for our tour was in a small park which was easy to find. It was requested that we arrive 15 minutes early which we did, our guide arrived at the exact time the tour was to begin. It didn't hold us up. The food at the restaurants we went to was very good and plentiful. The restaurants made enough room to accommodate the 12 person group, the first restaurant had no spot for our guide so she stood off to the side and did not engage in conversation with the group. Se was very knowledgeable about the architecture and some points of interest. In comparison to other food tours we had done, we were a bit underwhelmed with this one.

Our guide Caroline was pleasant and informative. Enjoyed the historical tidbits about Georgetown. The places we stopped to eat were all family owned and had been in Georgetown for awhile. The food was very good and for a food tour very plentiful. We did not need to eat dinner! Good mix of restaurants and food. Very fun way to see Georgetown.

The food tour was really cool, we walked thru the Georgetown neighborhoods and went to four restaurants. The first was a standard DC pub and grill. They served us a tomato based veggie soup with crab and a crab slider. The soup reminded me of a vegetable beef, but with crab instead of beef. Second was an Italian place. They served a meatball in marinara, a baked parmesan cheese crisp and a dollop of ricotta. They followed that with cheese tortellini in a tomato/cream based sauce with prosciutto and mushrooms. Next was a french restaurant with a spinach, ricotta, parmesan crepe paired with a white wine. The last stop was a bakery where they gave us a dessert called a stinger which was a shortbread crust, with honey and oats, also a grown up smore thing that had graham cracker crust with a marshmallow layer and chocolate gnache on top. The servings were all what would be more of an appetizer size, but it was amazing how full you felt at the end because you were 20 minutes or so between places and your head actually told your stomach it was full. Your are basically eating small amounts continuously for 3 hours) We enjoyed the company as much as the food. We will definitely do more food tours.

made everyone feel welcome. I was a single traveler and because of her warmth and ease with

which to talk with, she made my experience really wonderful. She was also very organized and made sure

each restaurant we went to was ready for us. She is fantastic. In face I was disappointed with the Dupont

We should have guessed when our guide met us wearing a ski parka, hat and gloves that we were a bit under-dressed, but we can't blame Zerve for the weather, can we? Our guide was knowledgeable and fun to listen to. Most of the food was wonderful, only one stop was disappointing. This is a full meal, so no need to eat before. I would do it again, and wear full cold weather gear so I could enjoy the history and sites the guide gave us on the walk from place to place.

Overall, it was a good tour and some of places we went too were great (we loved J Paul's restaurant). Our guide was very well informed and very nice, which made it a much better experience overall. However, the fact that all food was pre-selected in all places made it very tough to enjoy some of the food since we knew we had no other options. I would highly recommend allowing for some, even if limited, selection options in order to make it a much more fun experience! Italian restaurant that we attended did not serve us with clean plates and water did not taste great as well. I definitely would not go there on my own.

We really enjoyed our tour with Christian - he is very knowledgeable and friendly. What we thought was off was that it was waaaaaay overpriced and there was no unifying theme concerning the food. We did a food tour in San Juan Puerto Rico and the tour was about the history of San Juan and all the food was native to San Juan and there were great stories about the food. We did a food tour in Nashville - same thing. The location was the unifying theme - great stories about the location and the food. With this tour, we couldn't' figure out why we were eating what we were eating. Why pasta? Why a crepe? The Baked and Wired made sense but the others didn't. And there was really no big discussion about the food as we ate it. It just seemed that those establishments allowed your tour to come and that is why we were eating there. I could have eaten that food anywhere. I would encourage this tour to have more emphasis on the food and why we are eating that particular food. Otherwise, nice tour.

I was driving to Virginia from Ohio when I received a call that my Georgetown food tour for the following day had been bought out and would need to be rescheduled. I was bringing my sister for her birthday so I was having a panic that there would not be a tour we could go on. Luckily, I was able to reschedule for Friday but not at the time I preferred. The tour and food were great. Our guide, Christian, was very well versed on the history of the area. He shared a lot of interesting information about the buildings and famous (or infamous) people from the past. He made sure to speak to everyone in the group and find out where they were from, etc. All of the food was excellent. Every restaurant had prepared in advance by having tables set up to accommodate everyone in the group, place settings, and water. All of the food was delivered quickly and described in detail. The last stop at Baked and Wired for dessert was the only place where there was nowhere to sit. Luckily, we found a table outside. Inside was very crowded and hectic but the desserts were great.

We enjoyed our walk and filling selections at top-notch restaurants. All 4 of us were amazed at the large portion size of samples. Italian restaurant was outstanding with meatball appetizer and interesting pasta dish. We had soup, crepes and dessert as well at 3 other establishments. All very good!! Sean was our guide.

Our children, ages 8, 12, & 15 kept up very well and I was glad for the experience for them. Our tour guide was very pleasant, helpful, and very informed. Great experience for us all.

My husband and I were not disappointed when we chose to take another of your Washington area tours. The food was great, the company interesting and the guide well informed and personable. I planned ahead and brought a cane as walking on uneven surfaces can be a challenge, and I was thankful that I did. We loved the history of the area and the opportunity to photograph many of the remnants of the past, but had to stay alert for the uneven cobblestone and brick sidewalk surfaces; however, I would never let this challenge prevent me from taking this or any of your other tours.

We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in history, politics and/or stories of the Georgetown area. Of course the food was wonderful and varied at each stop. We love the opportunity to try 'small plates' at many restaurants and get a taste from across the globe. We left the tour tired, filled and happy to have chosen doing this with your reputable company. Thanks again.

We had a great time on the tour. Our guide, Kayla, was personable and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the crab soup and meat/cheese plate. The meatballs and tortellini at the Italian restaurant were excellent. The desserts were wonderful. However Noone in our family enjoyed the cauliflower and pea crepe with curry sauce. It was an interesting choice for a french restaurant and not something that many enjoyed.

The tour started promptly with a brief historical overview of Georgetown. The restaurants were prepared to receive us and the food was delicious. It would have been nice had the tour guide gone into more depth with why each of the restaurants were chosen and greater discussions about the various dishes. The guide did provide some basic information but I would have liked to have heard more.

This was a great way to see Georgetown, learn a little of its history AND try a sampling of restaurants. Our guide, Theresa was both knowledgeable and friendly. A diverse selection of restaurants provided us with an incredibly varied experience and more food than we could eat. We chose the 3:00 pm tour, having a light brunch in preparation of the afternoon tour and certainly did not need an evening meal. The tour featured some good information on the origins of Georgetown and some salacious gossip about JFK and his various Georgetown residences. We recommend this tour to those who like a little insider information, those who like to walk, those who like to eat and those looking for something a little off the beaten path.

We went on the Gastronomic Georgetown Food Tour.

Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area we visited.

However, The food and overall dining experience was somewhat of a disappointment.

The first place we visited was J. Paul's. The table we were shown to needed to be cleaned before we could sit down, which i certainly appreciate. We were served lump crab soup and a cheese and meat board offering with bread. I just do not care for crab so much. The cheese/meat board was great - but only one was served for our group, which made it very difficult to select items, as i think maybe i got 3-4 selections. Also none of the meats were searved hot, as i really like having my cold cuts warmed up. We were not even asked if we wanted sodas or teas, which i would have appreciated as water gets boring.

The second place we visited was Pailo's Ristorante. Our table was ready with ice water already poured. The food was excellent - skirt steak marinated with a small salad and roasted cauliflower. The chef came to our table and explained the items she prepared, was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely - This was the highlight of the food portion of our tour.

The next stop was a Mediterranean food venue. They served a wonderful frozen slushy type drink with mint and lime. Very refreshing. Food was two different types of hummus served with fresh made pita bread, a cold salad of the moment, and some fried meat corn fritters with cucumber sauce. Once again, no tea at the table, and no inquiry if we wanted soda or tea. Our tour guide did explain the items.

Last stop was a pastry shop for dessert - "Baked and Wired". We were served two small offerings of omg bars (shortbread with a glaze and nuts on top), s'mores bars - and a choice if coffee/tea - hot or cold. Very yummy but

nowhere to sit - we were in the corner standing. Yes the guide told us but i have issues walking and standing and I expected to sit at every stop. After walking for over a mile no one is in the mood to have to huddle in a little room without tables and chairs for a couple of slices of dessert. It was a terrible Disappointment, as dessert was equal to MAYBE a little more than one cupcake.

I have been on several food tours. This one left me thinking something was missing. The tour guide was very personable and was very knowledgeable. I missed out on the walk to the 1st location, so maybe that is why I felt like I missed out on something. In any case, I wanted to know more about the history of Georgetown. How it was constructed, how the area developed, how it has evolved over the past few decades, demographics, culture, etc. The Capital Hill tour has been by far the best one I have been on. There were 6 stops, the tour guide informed us of the history of the area, immigration, migration, spoke of the different architecture and architects, the reason behind the construction of the area, etc. The restaurants were pretty good, but for the cost I was hoping for more. This tour was recommended to me by a colleague. He mentioned that there were about 5-6 stops. Overall experience was pretty good, but it was not what I expected.

My best friend and I decided a food tour would provide a nuanced introduction to D.C. We opted for the Georgetown tour for its selection of restaurants and architecture of the neighborhood. We met our tour guide, Christian, at the designated place and time. He greeted us professionally and had all of our information at the ready. There were four other couples on our tour for a total of eight people (nine with Christian). Christian inquired about any dietary restrictions or physical limitations and then began the tour. He provided us with an overview of what we were going to experience, where we were going to go and the types of restaurants in which we would be dining. It is an amazing tour! I loved it. We walked to various points of interest, had plenty of time for pictures, learned a great detail about the history of the area and never felt rushed or hurried. Christian is a fount of knowledge; he clearly knows the area well, provided detailed explanations and was very down-to-earth and easy-going. Our tour consisted of four restaurants; Cafe La Ruche, Paolo's Ristorante, Wisey's and Baked & Wired (for dessert). Everything was delicious and the portions are hefty. We opted to get wine which is a supplemental charge, but had more than enough time to sit and drink and talk. I completely recommend this Georgetown Food tour to anyone and everyone; it was a highlight to our first DC experience.

For someone who has lived and is from the DC metropolitan area for some time, there is much I have not experienced. This tour opens up the possibilities that are tucked within the hustling and bustling streets that I normally associate with DC. It allows you to witness things from a pedestrian perspective and take in sights that you would miss driving through. The restaurants were a great eclectic mix and it took up all the time it says (3.5 hours). Also, with you being in Georgetown, you then have an opportunity to walk around and peak in shops as well. Paolo's and its skirt steak were the stars of my pallet. The tour was organized and it was a beautiful day to be out. The guide provided us with some historical tidbits along the way which made you look at the old buildings in a different perspective.

I would suggest this as a "starter" food tour and will be attending others in the near future.

Our tour guide, Emily, shared lots of historical and fun facts with us while keeping our motly crew (including someone with a broken foot) together on the busy streets and moving along, while never losing her cheerful disposition. I was especially grateful at how accommodating two of the restaurants were of my nut allergy and even went so far as to prepare a special plate for me so that I could enjoy the yummy cuisine with no worries.
