I loved this tour! I've been on food tours before and this was up there with the best of them. The food you try is all so different and really gives you a feel for what Indy has to offer. It's also fascinating to learn about the historical background of buildings and neighborhoods that you walk through while going from one spot to another.

My boyfriend and I were in Indy for the weekend (first timers) and decided to do a food tour of Mass Ave. It ended up just being us 2 and Martha our guide and we had a great time. Martha was so friendly and easy to talk to and knew so much about the city and the restaurants we went to. The food was amazing and we learned a lot about the city. It was definitely worth the price and the next time we're back in Indy we will defiantly do another tour! Super easy to book the tour and Taste Indy honored a coupon I found online.

The Mass Ave tour is a must do if you're going to Indy! Our tour guide was phenomenal and she was so knowledgable of the city and the history within as we wen ton our tour. All of the food was outstanding and there was a diverse selection of food as well. Each restaurant was so friendly and we had exceptional service! Loved learning about the city and trying some of the oldies but goodies while I was there! The tour gives you a way to see the city and satisfy your taste buds all for a reasonable price. Will definitely be looking for these on my trips going forward!

Our guide Allison/Alison was very knowledgable about the area. History was very interesting and having lived here it was still all new to me. Trying the new food was great as well.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our food tour. The food was delicious and the tour itself very informative! The food selection choices were perfect and tasty!! I would plan another food tour, as it was a great way to experience that part of the city first hand. Our guide, Dani, made the tour fun and enjoyable. It was the first time for half of our group to visit Indy and they can't wait to come back!

Spectacular weather, a lively mix of people, and a friendly guide. Well worth the value - we had 4 stops and enjoyed German, classic Indiana, and Mexican food along with a delicious cupcake - more food than we had expected. Also, generous portions of craft beer from local breweries. A great mix of restaurants and a nice history lesson. We had never been to Indiana so this was a great way to see part of the city and get a sense of the culture and atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This was a fantastic tour. The food was outstanding! The timing between stops was great. We never felt rushed and could spend the time getting to know the other people on the tour. There was a different type of food at each stop and you could purchase adult beverages. Our guide was especially knowledgeable about Indianapolis and very attentive to all our needs.

Informative local history was good also but would be better received in warmer temperatures.

This tour was excellent and Dani was an amazing guide. That said, I think our tour was comprised because you allowed a couple to bring their child. We should have been notified that our experience would include being moved to a banquet room, instead of the amazing Rathskeller bar because of the ordinance about having a child under 21. We also did not get to experience your citie's indigeneous sandwich, which was I one of the reasons we took th tour. That was very disappointing, especially since the restaurant was closed on Sunday, so we did not get to experience it.

I think you need to decide if your tour is family friendly or over 21. If it is family friendly a, the alternate experience should be posted and the rest of the people on the tour should be notified prior to the day that they would be receiving the lesser experience.

I know you may have some reservations about blindly signing up for a food tour and paying for it without knowing for sure that a guide will even show up! But I can enthusiastically confirm that you will have a wonderful time on the Mass Ave Food Tour. Martha was our tour guide--kind and knowledgeable, she took us through three restaurants and a dessert stop, and gave us a very nice historical tour of the area too. You don't have to be a food buff or a history buff to enjoy this tour. As an Indiana native, Mass Ave was an area that I was pretty unfamiliar with, but now I feel I could go back and explore it further (and re-visit some of the delicious places we ate). I would highly recommend this wakling and eating tour!

Don't worry about leaving hungry! Plenty of food at every stop. We had a great time, and loved all the food and beverages. The tour was informative even to locals. Perfect combo of food and history. Ask for Dani as your guide. She did great!!!

WE had a very good group and a great upbeat tour guide. Dani was excelent. It was fun!

My grown daughter and I wanted a fun activity. We found the tour that and more. Good food, some beer tasting, and chance to learn more of the history of the area. We both enjoyed the tour, the guide, and others taking that tour.

This is a great way to learn a little about the city and taste some great food! It was a lot of fun and a great date for our anniversary. We will definitely be doing another tour soon!

Took the Massachusetts Avenue Tour with Molly as our guide. Four food stops...each unique. Food was plentiful and delicious. Particularly enjoyed the German food and the breaded pork tenderloin, which is an Indy special. Molly provided information about the neighborhood, architecture styles, historical details, etc. tour is organized from the past to the present. The four of us in our group, including two from Washington, DC who are "foodies" , enjoyed the tour. Plenty of food and a great intro to Indy!

I was looking for something different for date night and this was perfect. There were about 8 people total in our tour and everyone was very friendly, the food was superb. I would love to go again and tour new places!

The food was not to die for, but the tour itself included lots of Indy history which was fabulous. Loved every minute.

The tour was great! I was only passing through on business, but with the historical/cultural information provided, I've noted many reason to come back. There's a lot in Indy that caught my interest and I wouldn't have known where to start without the expertise of our great guide, Amy. Thanks for a delightful afternoon and the tasty treats along the way!

Every step of the way was very easy. Molly did an exceptional job and made it a pleasant experience! Though we are locals, we learned a lot about the city and felt the cost of the tour was well worth it. Definitely recommend to anyone and will be registering for another one soon! We were in Indy over the weekend on business and found the food tours online. We were not at all disappointed with the tour or the guide, Molly. She was fun and informative with an easy going and infectious smile that immediately put everyone at ease. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and can't wait to get back to town to take the City Market tour too!

The Mass. Ave. Food Tour was fun!!! Our tour guide, Dani, was fantastic!! She gave us interesting/historical facts about Indianapolis. Tables were reserved at each place we went. Food was tasty! Walking through the Lockerbie & Chatham Arch neighborhoods was entertaining and interesting. This is a side in Indianapolis that I didn't even know existed!!!

We enjoyed the history, architecture, food and drinks, and the company! It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

This was a gift I gave to my husband as part of his Christmas "date night package". This is one of the best dates we've been on. The food was great - the drinks were great - and the atmosphere was fun. If you are someone who is open to trying different types of foods or drinks that you may not normally order, this is for you! Also loved walking around the city and sight-seeing, learning a lot about the downtown area. We did the Mass Ave tour and plan on doing others as well! We also had a large group of 8 join us - so this would make a great date OR a fun group activity!

Molly (our tour guide) was great! Fun way to learn about the city. You have to be willing to try some new foods. We went to the Rathskeller for German, then Lockerbie for fried pork tenderloin and fried pickles, good tex mex at Bakersfield, then wrapped up with cupcakes. We did a tour in New York and visited about 6 places .. Little too much fried foods for our taste.

Great way to entertain out of town guests and to try a variety of restaurants. I learned much from the tour guide, and I have lived in Indy for many years. Would be happy to do it again, or take another tour. My only compalint....too much food! :-)

This event was great! I loved the history of Indy mixed with the delicious food. It was all really good, but I was definitely overly full by the end of the tour. I just moved to Indy, so it was a great way to try new restaurants!

We enjoyed the food tour. Amy, our tour guide, was exceptional and she really made the tour worth it. We enjoyed stops #1, 2, and 4 and didn't care for stop 3. There was a mix up on the address of the meeting place on our email and that forced our tour to start 20 minutes late. I was very happy with the response from IndyTours when I called them about the address mixup, they were very accommodating.

History was great guide was perfect you could tell she loved her job and the food fantastic. I've lived here for a year and never knew about the places we ate at and the history in downtown!

The food was great at all the establishments on the Mass Ave Food Tour. We saw how down to earth and friendly Indy is!

We took the food tour on a Saturday afternoon. The weather wasn't the greatest, but tolerable. Our guide was difficult to hear while walking. Not sure if better weather, she would have stopped and talked to all. The food was good, but the amount seemed a lot in a short time period. ( I know, most people don't complain about that) The food was good. Our favorite was the breaded tenderloin at a local bar. Best we had ever tasted.

We were tired and cold and decided not to go to the last stop for dessert. After we were back to our hotel, we got a message saying a package was at the desk. Our guide had somehow gotten the cupcakes from the last stop to our hotel!!!!!! Very surprised and impressed with her kindness.

Mature couple meeting up with older child and fiance found this tour to be a fun and tasty way to spend an afternoon. The combination of restaurants and a brief walk around several interesting neighborhoods gave us a feel for Indianapolis, showing us several places we would not have found on our own! The tour guide, Tia, was charming and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

I really enjoyed the historical information and the food selection. Now I have other options when it's time to go out and eat.

This is a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon in Indy.

They loved it. Father is picky eater but opened up and enjoyed the food especially the tenderloin at Lockerbie. Mother is a vegan and enjoyed Bakersfield tacos and margaritas. A good combo gift for a couple or friends to explore the food scene and enjoy a little Indianapolis history.

We were surprised by the amount of food we had at each stop. Friendly owners, great good, beer tasting, and great dessert. Our guide was a local architect who offered a lot of insight into the history of the area, and what influenced the development of buildings. Highly recommend!

The food was fantastic. We saw quite a few beautiful homes, learned a lot about Mass Ave in downtown Indianapolis.

We had a fun and informative guide. Molly. We had to cut our tour short due to our little dog barking in the hotel bothering other guests. About an hour later we heard a knock on our hotel room door. Molly, our guide had our last course delivered to our hotel room. Pure Class. Looking forward to the next tour. Highly recommended.

Had a really nice experience and good food.

The guide was great and took us to some nice places. On the walks to and from the restaurants she shared some good info on local buildings and the history of Indianapolis. Food was great!

I'm from Indianapolis, and this was a great way to learn a little history, explore an area I hadn't seen before, and try interesting food at restaurants I hadn't ever eaten at. The relaxed atmosphere allows for conversations with friends during the tour and was really fun to do with a group of friends.

We went to three different locations of Mass Ave in Indy. All three had different atmospheres which was nice. We think they should also include other restaurants but rotate the ones that they go to for each tour. We would problay go on it again if they did that.

We enjoyed the food and the places where we went to eat

Due to the snow it was a little difficult to stay outside for long periods of time and too icy to do alot of walking but I would of liked more history and even some information about the foods we were sampling.

It would of been nice to know the reason behind what was choosen for us to sample

I enjoy going out and trying new things but also enjoy cooking, maybe a visit in a kitchen and see 1st hand something that was being made for us.

Everything was great. It was well organized and a wonderful experience.

Although I had booked and paid for this tour in advance and received an email confirmation, when we arrived at the designated meeting place BEFORE the designated starting time there was no one else there. We waited about 5 minutes and then I called the office and was informed that the group had already left. The person on the phone confirmed that my cell phone number was included in my reservation, and she told me that the tour guide should have called me before leaving. I assured her that I received no such call. I was told that the tour guide would call me back and arrange for us to join the group. After about another 5 minutes without receiving a call, I called the office again. This time I asked for the location of the first restaurant, and with this information we found the group. I did not receive any explanation from the office about why the group left early without us or why the tour guide did not call me either before departing or in response to the call from the office; however, at the end of the tour, my tour guide apologized and said she thought that everyone had already arrived so they left early.

The portion of the tour that we experienced was fun. We visited three very different restaurants and enjoyed a plentiful sampling of food. The beer at The Rathskeller was excellent, as was the mushroom appetizer and bread pudding dessert at Mesh. We were served three kinds of sausage and two kinds cabbage at The Rathskeller (in addition to a delicious hot pretzel with spicy mustard) and a fried pork loin sandwich with fried pickles and local beer at the second stop. I would have preferred if one of the meat courses had been something other than pork, but each dish that the tour selected is apparently a local speciality. For someone with a big appetite who is not familiar with the area, this tour offers a good opportunity to spend the afternoon enjoying local dishes and learning a little bit about the neighborhood.

This was a very good tour.The tour guide was awesome and the stops were great. More food than we expected. We definitely recommend this tour.

Something different and fun to do with a group of friends/family from out of town.

We thought the diversity of foods sampled were an excellent representation of Indy's food scene. The portions were appropriately sized and food delicious. The guide was informative but could have used the down-time while we waited for food to facilitate interaction between the participants. She didn't seem particularly invested or interested in the participants of facilitating a communal experience among participants. I liked the architectural history inserted into the walk. I would have liked more description of the food/beer/restaurant form the owner and chefs of the restaurants. Very cool to see the renovated church turned into a community space, I loved that addition of nontraditional restaurant into the tour.

It was a fun experience, definitely a great way to spend an afternoon. The food was delicious and we learned a lot about the history of Indianapolis.

We enjoyed trying some new resturants as well as old favorite. We will definately return so a couple of them. Would have liked a little more historical information on the area since there is much that was not mentioned. Parking information could have been better (how long a meter would run, better information on parking garage - we never did find anybody to pay). Looking forward to a future tour in either Fountain Square or Market District.

I attended the tour with some friends (some from Indy and some from out of town) and we had a great time. Though I've lived in the area for years I don't get downtown very often so it was nice to visit some new restaurants and learn a little history along the way. The Lockerbie Square area made me want to move downtown. You get plenty to drink at the various restaurants so you do not need to purchase anything at the ones that only provide water. The price may seem a little high, but it really is a good value considering the amount of food/drinks you get...not to mention the added entertainment value of the 3+ hour tour.

Five stops with great food at each stop. Each food selection was wildly different and I enjoyed each selection. My favorite was the Bar with the local brew. Jill was an outstanding tour guide and extremely interesting person. We had a great time and thought this was a great value. Will be looking for more tours of the city. Congratulations on a tour well done.

The tour was great!! Our tour guide Julie was so helpful and was great even when she wasn't giving history. Very professional. We got WAY more history than I thought we would and we ate SO much food! Make sure not to eat lunch (or at least a big lunch before). I would highly recommend taking the tour. A fun way to see the city and eat some delicious food :)

We really enjoyed everything about it- the tour guide was delightful- knowledgeable and excited and informative. We LOVED the food- particularly Rathskeller and Lockerbie Pub. We enjoyed the other people on the tour. They were together as a large group but we fit right in and had so much fun walking, talking, and eating.

We have already recommended it to others.

Some suggestions... consider just a pub tour- beer, food, and architecture- I think more folks would sign up for that. And perhaps include a girlfriend tour of eating and shopping (3 stops- three food places and three stores)

It was a great 3 1/2 hr tour on a Saturday afternoon. We walked to 5 different interesting places to taste delicious food, while learning the history of the area surrounding these eating places.

We enjoyed this Event and recommend it highly, it is worth every cent.

The tour was wonderful. We enjoyed food and drinks at every restaurant. It was very interesting to hear about the history of the buildings. I live in Indy and learned a lot of historical facts I never knew about during the tour. The food is good and you definitely get enough to fill you up! The tour guide, Jill, was a lot of fun!

I took my fiancee on this tour for her birthday. The clientel was all middle aged except us, but our tour guide Julie was very nice. We went to 5 restaurants, a german restaurant, the Rathskellar, where we had a sausage plate (I've since gone back for beers and full meal and it was great!), a vegan restaurant (the least exciting stop on the tour), the Lockerbie pub where we had great Sun King beer and pork tenderloin sandwiches with fried pickles (delicious! I would go back if they banned smoking at bars in Indy), a posh upscale restaurant that was much fancier than any place I would normally eat but it was cool, and finally a coffee house where we had some dessert.

We took the tour on a hot Sat. afternoon but the heat really wasn't a problem as you are always stepping into an air conditionied restaurant or standing in the shade when listening to all the interesting facts!! We were seated for all our food tastings and served very generous portions at every stop. It was also a very nice mix of different foods at all the places. The only one that I can say that we weren't too fond of was the organic sandwich, even though we tried to be open minded. It seems there might be a better substitute for that one! Otherwise, everything was delicious, and we discovered some places that we will surely return to eat again! Our guide was Wonderful - very cute & peppy and full of interesting facts! GREAT way to spend a Saturday afternoon, & make sure you don't plan on eating any dinner afterwards, because you will be very full!!!

Thank you Taste Indy Food Tour for bringing a 5 star event to our city!! My wife and I recently took a friend of ours on the Mass Ave food tour for her birthday. We all found it to be a historical learning experience and a cullinary delight!!! We were all proud that Indianapolis can offer this type of food tour to the people who live here and those who visit. We would do it again and highly recommend it.

Enjoyed the day with our sweet and informative guide, Julie, who took us on a very informative tour of Massachusette Ave. and Lockerbie area for 3.5 hours. We walked and talked all the way, and she answered all our questions. She was very personable, getting to know all of us, which was very nice. The 5 eating establishments we ate at were wonderful, and they welcomed us with open arms! Great diversity and delicious food at each! Enjoyed the day immensely!

We felt like we new the city after spending the afternoon with our guides. Their personalities made you feel as if they were long time friends. We enjoyed different foods, restaurants and learned a lot about Indianapolis.

Would love to have taken more food tours with them. The food tour also blended in the cultural aspects of the city.

They really know how to give you a really enjoyable afternoon. We all hated it to come to an end.
