JOHN WAS GREAT. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT NORFOLK AND THE RESTAURANTS. THE FOOD THAT WAS GIVEN TO US DURING THE TOUR WAS ALL SPECTACULAR AND I WOULD GO BACK TO THESE RESTAURANTS. I TOLD JOHN IT WAS A FRIENDS BIRTHDAY AND HE PUT A NICE TOUCH ON TELLING THE WAITRESS TO BRING OUT DESERT WITH A BIRTHDAY CANDLE!

A simple but very nice experience, capped off with lovely food and company. There are very few tour options in Tidewater, but this is nice!!

The tasting was fantastic! Had no idea what to expect and it was better than I imaged. The food, restaurant variety, history and timeframe were perfect. Kirk our tour guide also made the tour a great experience. The amount of food was very generous. The quality was first rate. Definitely worth the money!

The web site stated that :

We are big eaters; we prefer the buffet to a normal meal, which is why we chose this tour in the first place. Sometimes quanity wins over quality (hello golden corral!!)

This was not the case on our tour. We went to only 3 restaurants and the food was more like a taste test except for the soup and desert.

The tour part of the venue where one walks around the local sites was very good.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We were served prompltly at every restaurant. As a person who likes to try new foods, but never knows what to choose this is a great way to broaden that horizon. Our group like just about every sampling, but we had mixed feelings about the choice of tapas. All the restaurants had a mix ot atmosphere which was particularly enjoyable, and the history experienced was enjoyable. While I didn't think of it at the time, I wish I would have written down the names of some of the dishes served, particularly the Moroccan dish. Since this dish is time consuming to prepare, it is something I would like to order. Perhaps supplying the meal names to your patrons is something to consider, even if it's on 3x5 index cards, it would be easy for the tour guide to carry and hand out afterward. Especially since our guide explained that a couple of the dishes are 'seasonal' and the restaurants change the menu from time to time. My group was very, very satisfied with the tour. It was very enjoyable!!!! And we are particularly grateful that the tour guide could wait for us to get through traffic since the HRBT was blocked due to an accident.
