It may just be that Fells Point does not have many good places to eat or the ones selected were not the best but I was disappointed in the tour. Restaurants were dropped at the last minute and the schedule was changed.

This is such a great tour! We learned so much about the history of Baltimore and Fell's Point, and our tour guide was amazing and would provide additional information based on the interests/questions of the participants. The food was plentiful and delicious. Overall a great introduction to the area, or a good overview if you only have a limited time in the area.

Excellent way to visit a new city! The tour guide was warm and knowlegable- and the food/restaurants were excellent. The timing was perfect, as there was plenty of time to sit and enjoy the food without feeling rushed. The brief walk between restaurants was a great opportunity to learn a few interesting facts about this fun area of Baltimore- while you digest a bit and get ready for the next course! Great for all ages and fitness levels.

This was my first food tour and I had a wonderful experience! I liked that the tour continued despite the rainstorm happening outside during half the tour. I felt like that added to the overall atmosphere of Baltimore. Our tour guide was quite friendly and dropped so many knowledge bombs on our group. Would recommend.

My group and I went on the Fells Point food tour on Saturday and had Timmy has our tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about Baltimore and Fells Point specifically. The food was amazing and the history we learned was a great addition. I would highly recommend any of the food tours, even if you are a local - you will still learn a ton of history. Baltimore has a ton of great food options and I have never eaten at any of the 5 restaurants we visited but will certainly be back!

Our Guide Timmy comes from a family that has lived in Baltimore for generations. Very proud and knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning more about Baltimore's colorful history as we ate our way through five restaurants. Even though we live near Annapolis, it was really fun to get more familiar with Baltimore ('the city of firsts') and of course visit some restaurants and bars in Fells Point. Great way to spend the afternoon.

I used to be in the military, and have been on food tours in other countries and a few stateside whenever I would travel for work and for fun. Good easy way to see things and get some great eats.

Now I am ÔretiredÕ, and figured a beautiful fall day is the ideal time for a food tour in my own town. Cant believe I waited so long! Oh well, now its time to let everyone know about this great secret.

Now I love good food and try to be as adventurous as my wife allows, so a conversation about what Maryland food is led us to a Fells Point Food Tour on a beautiful day with old and now some new friends. I sure am glad I made that choice!

First of all we called the office instead of booked online accidentally. Really great staff. Molly I think was very nice and helpful, she direted us to this third party ticketing site (which is kind of strange, I should be writing this on tripadvisor or something!) and I even learned bout the awesome private culinary events they do! Hello company holiday party! Definitely doing one of the iron chef challenges for that.

Our guide was energetic, and great with stories about the area, and some cool history. I love buildings and she even gave us the rundown on building styles from the old stuff to today!

The food Ð five stops was value enough for the price if she just walked us from place to place saying nothing. But it was fantastic. Local joints, all varied in so many ways, and all connecting with the city and neighborhood. Yes my friends, it was plentiful, flavorful, satisfying, and more. Making me hungry thinking about it!

But it was great as well. some awesome pit beef and fries (hungry andy I think), polish and European dumplings and pancakes my grandmother would be proud of. A nice selection of seafood at a local type joint, and fried pb and j with a white Russian the dude on the big lebowski would be proud to enjoy! (for those of you who have not seen that movie, its great)

Anyways, I couldnÕt be more pleased, and look forward to doing their other tours soon. If they are anything like this one, I will be a happy and full man!

I have been to a number of food tours in the last few years (some actually by other companies as well), but this was one of my very favorite. I first heard there were food tours in my backyard from a friend whoÕs company did some kind of cool team building foodie activity. I figured I had to check it out for myself. I think reviews are really important so I will do my best to give you a good one.

First- the neighborhood:

The neighborhood (fellÕs) is unbelievably historic, with buildings that are hundreds of years old smashed next to each other in an absolutely charming way. Never seen a neighborhood like this pretty much anywhere I have been, and I have been to most of this country, England, Ireland and Canada. It was fun learning about it, thatÕs for sure!

Second- the food and drink!

Our dishes were excellent. Although there was a great selection of local eats between the 5 or 6 stops we had, I especially liked the seafood spot near the waterfront area. It was exactly the type of place I hope to visit on a foodie tour. There was a lot to eat on the tour and even an alcoholic beverage, yay! I had been to one of the stops before but it was good too. The bar with the bottles of grand marnier (sp?) was really interesting Ð I had not seen anything like it Ð so I had to get a cocktail with gm in it!!

Third- the guide

The guide (I think Mallory was her name?) told really good stories throughout the tour. She really knew her stuff and gave it in a relevant way. She was young (probably around or under 30) and had a way to make the history and culture relevant for everyone on tour (well for me at least!). She also had a lot to say about the restaurants and the food we were eating. Which I appreciate- I love knowing about what I eat, just makes it better for me.

Fourth- other guests

The group itself was fun. It was full but not too many people (maybe 9 or 10) so we could sit together most of the time. It was great, I made friends with some like-minded people on the tour I would not have known otherwise. ?

I hope this is as fun to read as it was to write. I look forward to checking out another charm city food tour sometime soon!

Leader was late to meet us (start tour). Food was of just average quality, peroigies were not filled and greasy, crab soup was watery and no crab, chicken crab cake was a little tough. Other items were tasty and everyone was nice. I enjoyed hearing the information although I don't think everything (the facts) were exactly correct. Need to check a info. before telling to a group, especially that our group was from the area. (Balto.)

This was may 2nd time on this particular tour. This time I brought along a friend who I also wanted to experience the great food and tour. Although this time the tour guide was not all to informed. Her reply to most questions was "great question but I don't know the answer to that". She even responded that others have asked that same question. That being the case she should have definitely researched and had an answer when it was asked again.

Other then that is was a great tour the 2nd time around.

Andrew did a great job pairing the history of Fells Point with the architecture and ultimately the food. The food choices were quite good and some were just exceptional! You do not need to eat before or after the tour, or the next day for that matter. It was a pleasant, easy pace with new friends. Worth the time and the money. Our guide, with a little more experience is going to be very good. Food was good but you definitely have to pace yourself or you won't be able to sample everything. My only criticism is there was too much down time between stops. Maybe because there were only 5 on our tour. Maybe with a larger group the time would have flowed better.

We decided to take the food tour at the last minute while trying to find something fun to do for our anniversary. I'm so glad we did! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable about Fells Point. The food and drinks we had along the tour were outstanding. I know we will go back to all of the places we tried out. Our guide had suggestions for drinks at each location and I enjoyed each one. The group was a mix of couples and a family. We enjoyed meeting everyone and they were all very friendly. I hated for the tour to end. We plan on trying the other 3 food tours offered.

I was really looking forward to trying a sampling of Baltimore Food. And when I go on a food tour I have pretty high expectations for the food.

The food ranged from bad to really good.... here are my thoughts

Ze Mean Bean- bad, and I've had perogies before that I like, Bbut thought the perogies were bad, the latke was fine

Riptide by the bay-crab cakes and dumplings. I didn't think there was anything special about this. I thought it was just fine. Not that good, just fine

The rest were good to great, but the bad ones kind of just stuck out. I think going 4 places instead of 5 is preferable, and with better food

The pit beef sandwich- was good

Grand Mariner place- the chicken was good, not amazing

Last place we went- (pb&j french toast) was AMAZING, best food of the tour! And the drink with it was cute.

It was nice to learn about Fells Point and some of the local cuisine. Unfortunately, we went on an extremely hot day. and our guide (who is extremely plesant and knowledgable), did not have a lot of situational awareness for us. He would stop under small trees to talk about the area, and the walking portion had a lot of back-tracking. When we were in the restaurants, we would all run out of water so in sit-down establishments I got up to get us water... while he stood idly by. Perhaps he's not allowed to advocate for us. One of our courses was hot soup....on a 95 degree day, why would you include hot soup!?

I just feel like while a pleasant person, the tour lacked situational and group awareness. I learned some things but not enough to warrant a high review. Also the service was poor at 4/5 locations- and people who purchased drinks slowed the group down... Just not a good day overall. For $60, I was extremely disappointed.

Also gluten-free people received extremely narrow/plain choices- which would have disappointed me...Save yourself time, get your own tour guide and yelp food in the area!

Tour guide (Jennifer) was excellent both with knowledge of the neighborhood and with food in general. Appeal of the food varied widely from place to place. The Polish food was not as appealing as the seafood items at Rip Tide and the place with the Grand Marinier gimmick. The sandwich shop was good but unremarkable.

We had a very nice day in fells point. The restaurants were very good with very helpful staff. We had a sit down at every location. The portions were very generous especially compared to other tours we have been on. We were offered the option of purchasing a drink at every location. We tried a few, very good! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Restaurant staff was all very nice to us and happy to seat our group. We had a nice day good experience. We were so full - don't eat ahead of time!!

Our tour guide, Timmy, was fantastic! His passion for Baltimore and history is really what made this tour worth it. The food alone would not have been worth the money, the tour alone would not have been worth it, but the experience all together was definitely one for the books! I recommend it as a fun way to get to know a little bit more about Baltimore and enjoy some great food along the way!

Since this is a food tour, I will concentrate of the food for the most part. There is plenty of it, in my estimation. Crab cakes, to fish tacos, to fried PBJ. Alcohol is not included in the price, but that is usually the norm for food tours. Our guide was friendly and enthusiastic, but I think I would have liked a bit more of the history of Fells Point, unless there was none. We have been on other tours in other cities, where the guide spoke almost non stop about the history, the locals, and the food. So for this tour, I would say, just go to eat.

Fells Point is an interesting place and Tim made it come alive. His stories were fun. He knew the area and it's history.

The food was uniquely Baltimore and I got to try foods I had never tasted before. They were very good and there was plenty to fill you up.

Andrew (AJ) was a friendly and very knowledgable guide. He interacted well with the group, answered questions and provided some "insider" information that was new to me as a local. As we walked to each restaurant, AJ pointed out various historic features and stories. All of the food at each of the restaurants was excellent. We especially enjoyed the polish food at Ze Mean Bean, which was probably our favorite (though we would go back to any of the 5 spots).

I would highly recommend this for a couple's date, or a family outing. We Are looking forward to do it again with my teenage daughters who are foodies. We will also plan to do the Federal Hill and Mt. Vernon.

I have been to Baltimore several times but somehow have never wandered into Fells Point. What a terrific area! Historic, quaint, and full of original Mom and Pop stores, bars, and restaurants. Historic homes fill the streets, and there is a warmth and energy that you do not feel in the Inner Harbor. The tour highlighted all of this. AJ was terrific, being a local he was able to really give us a sense of the area, and with his education he was also able to describe where the city had come from, where they are today, and what the vision is for the future. He was a friend to all of the restaurant bartenders and waiters, which told me that he was actually taking us to places that he, as a local, hangs out in. I recommend this tour for anyone tired of the Inner Harbor, and ready to experience the true feeling of Baltimore!

The restaurants were great. I have lived in Baltimore over 20 years and this was the first time I had been in any of them. Plenty of food and a great time was had by all.

My boyfriend and I went on this food tour. Although we have lived in Baltimore for awhile, we learned a lot of interesting information--not just about food, but about the city in general. Our tour guide was very engaging, and the small size of the group allowed us plenty of time to interact. All of the food was delicious, and there was so much of it! I was stuffed at the end of the tour. We really enjoyed ourselves, and we would love to go on the Fed. Hill tour next.

My husband and I took the Fells Point tour. Our guide was Timmy Reed. We were also fortunate to be on a tour with a group of ladies in our same age group. The weather was threatening that morning, but was clearing up by 3:00 when our tour started. This was our first trip to Baltimore and it was just the two of us; we are so glad that we took the tour with Timmy. Everything was perfect (except we ate too much)! Timmy is a professor, low key, but very knowledgeable and informative. The tour was a great mix of history, food, drinks, indoor and outdoor, walking and sitting. We had so much fun and are anxious to take another tour with this company. Thank you Timmy and the ladies from New York!

I signed up for this tour by myself. My husband had to work and could not come along. The group that I was with on the tour had six other people that worked together and were on a team building experience and there was another couple who were in town for a conference. I was a little hesitant to go on my own, but I must say this tour was my favorite part of my trip. We toured 5 different restauants and sampled thier food. The first restautant was a polish restaurant and I must say was the best because the manager gave us a history of the building in which the restaurant was located and background information on the food that we would be sampling. The One Eyed Jack restaurant was the second best because of the friendliness of the waiter giving us a little history of their restaurant. I had so much fun with our group, that even after the tour was over, we all headed down to Bertha's and continued with our socializing there. The Fells Point walking/eating tour is a must for anyone in the Baltimore area!!!

James was awesome, and it was definitely impressive that he was able to memorize the entire group's names (15 people!). This was our first time to Fells Point and the tour was a fantastic way to kick off our trip and made us appreciate the city more. 2 minor points to improve were that there were only 4 stops, less than I expected, less than other food tours I've been on. Each stop provided a sizeable amt of food so it wasn't a matter of getting enough food, but it would be good for the group to know how many stops from the beginning of the tour next time to manage expectations. The second point is that parts of the tour dragged a bit, mostly due to restaurant delays out of the tour's control, but the experience definitely would have been better if all stops were prepared to serve as soon as we got there. Overall, great tour and absolutely recommended despite the hiccups.

There were 7 friends on this tour and everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed it. When i tried to buy the tickets online there were only 6 spots left. I called Charm City Tours and they were nice enough to open up one more slot for us. That is unusually great customer service. Our guide, James, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was a perfect gentleman. We visited 5 restaurants/pubs. The food was delicious, the drinks were very good and the people running the establishments were very cordial and attentive. Our tour guide, Andrew, was very knowledgeable about Fells Point and its history as well as food and was very attentive and an excellent host all along the tour. We spent a few very enjoyable hours walking around Fells Point learning about it and stopping at different restaurants along the way. The food was good and the tour was great. For what we paid, I thought the quality of the food at a few of the restaurants, particularly dessert, could have been a bit better, but overall it was fun and tasty and I would definitely do it again.

The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and interesting. This was his first day on his own as a tour guide (although we had the benefit of another guide who accompanied him - supervisor?) and he did a wonderful job because I still remember a lot of the historical data. Some of the food stops were wonderful - the only reason I did not give this 5 stars was that the 3rd stop was just OK in terms of the food and the quantity that was served. Otherwise, the other 4 places were great choices. Do indulge in the alcohol (the specialties) at every stop if you drink - you will walk enough to wear off the effects and I am not a big drinker.
